Dubai is the most attractive tourist destination in the Middle East

The prestigious World Travel Awards for the Middle East (WTA Middle East-2012) was held at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa in Dubai. It was attended by representatives of the hospitality industry from more than 30 countries in the region. For the second year in a row, Dubai has been recognized as the region's leading tourist destination; Atlantis Hotel, the Palm, became the best resort, and Dubai International Airport was the best air terminal. The neighboring emirate of Abu Dhabi took the titles for the best resort in the premium segment in the Middle East (Hotel Emirates Palace) and for the leading regional air carrier (Etihad Airways) in its piggy bank. The best cruise operator in the Middle East was Royal Caribbean International.

Graham Cook, President of the World Travel Awards, noted that the tourism sector in the Middle East is notable for its high quality services. “Dubai is an innovative travel destination that is great for starting our WTA Grand Tour 2012. Today, we clearly saw the growth and development of the region’s hospitality industry over the past few years,” said the WTA President.

The World Travel Awards will be held on December 12 this year in New Delhi (India).
