One and a half centuries Bernardaud

BERNARDAUD'S FAMOUS LIMOUS MANUFACTURE CELEBRATES AN ANNIVERSARY - A HALF AND A CENTURY OF CREATIVITY IN THE FIELD OF PORCELAIN ART. BY CASE OF A Milestone, A SPECIAL COLLECTION WAS CREATED UNDER THE GENERAL TITLE OF L'ART DE LA TABLE ("THE ART OF COUNTERING ON THE TABLE"). IN NOVEMBER IT CAN BE CONSIDERED IN DETAILS IN DUBAI, IN THE OPERA DIFC GALLERY.

Famous artists, photographers and filmmakers - in other words, the geniuses of our time - took part in the creation of 13 services. They presented their views on porcelain, which for the family business of Bernardo has long moved from the category of household utensils to the category of works of high art. And in this role, the “white gold” from Bernardaud, like 150 years ago, steps over the thresholds of the royal palaces of the world - from Europe to Saudi Arabia. They serve gourmet dishes in the most luxurious restaurants of the Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons hotel chains. In other words, Bernardaud is always where luxury, tradition and elegance are valued. So you can be sure that he will have enough orders for another two centuries in advance. The main thing is to confidently move along the path of creativity ...

Special secret

The Bernardaud factory was founded in Limoges in 1863, shortly after deposits of white clay with koalin were discovered in this province. It is part of the porcelain mass and gives the finished product special strength and dazzling whiteness. Almost immediately in the vicinity of Limoges grew 40 ceramic factories and workshops. Despite the uniformity of the raw materials, some porcelainists, and Bernardaud are no exception, have developed unique manufacturing techniques. And still they continue to keep the secrets of creating elite products, "thin as a lotus petal, and sonorous like a bell."

In his hands, Darwin also said that a person could not dominate the planet without the help of hands. Our descendants will inherit from us our family photographs - of our hands, and the porcelain service ...

The endless sea It was very interesting for me to come up with a story that can fit in twelve plates. I plan to use them at home every day, I can’t wait any longer!

The Last Supper It was very interesting for me to come up with a story. The Last Supper is a plot that fascinated me in my youth. The plates depict interpretations of the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci, on each of them there are different Messiahs and apostles. A precious service, in the spirit of pop culture, for interesting conversations at dinner.

Jeff Koons. Commonplace

I have always been intrigued by porcelain, the cost-effectiveness of this material, and its sexual connotations. Porcelain was the material of emperors, but became more democratic - today everyone can enjoy it. Therefore, I chose this one for my series.

Sarkis. Kintsugi

I am crazy about Japanese kintsugi art, which means gluing broken dishes with varnish and gold. This gives aesthetic value.

Nabil Nahas. Stars

I saw starfish - natural pentagrams - on the beach in Hamton. Thousands of them washed ashore after a hurricane. Tactile sensations, glitter enamel, a fabulous image - that was what the collection lacked.

Sophie Call The pig

What I really liked about these plates was the creation of some kind of ritual that complicates the life of people, forcing them to sit in order, six of them at the same table, and prohibiting them from breaking plates. There is more personal motivation. I like to eat strangers from plates - it seems to me that alien food is always tastier.
