Special secret
The Bernardaud factory was founded in Limoges in 1863, shortly after deposits of white clay with koalin were discovered in this province. It is part of the porcelain mass and gives the finished product special strength and dazzling whiteness. Almost immediately in the vicinity of Limoges grew 40 ceramic factories and workshops. Despite the uniformity of the raw materials, some porcelainists, and Bernardaud are no exception, have developed unique manufacturing techniques.
