UAE invests US $ 7.7 billion in tourism industry

The volume of investment in the tourism and hospitality industry in the UAE will grow by 2.8% and reach 28.2 billion dirhams (US $ 7.7 billion) in 2016, according to the report of the research company COFACE.

Tourist spending will also grow by 3.3% compared to 2015, when they reached US $ 26 billion. It is worth recalling that this year the Emirates set a goal to serve 15 million foreign guests. Meanwhile, the pressure on the tourism sector that arose after the fall in energy prices and the depreciation of the ruble continues. Due to these factors, the Emirates have become a less accessible destination for Russian and European tourists. This affects the corporate efficiency of hotels, the study also notes.
