Six Flags plans to build the world's largest roller coaster in Dubai

Six Flags theme park operator has promised to build the world's largest roller coaster in Dubai.

Six Flags, an international US theme park operator, is reportedly planning to build the largest roller coaster ride in its upcoming Dubai entertainment complex.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the highest slides in the world are currently located in New Jersey and run by Six Flags, while the fastest are based in the Ferrari World Park in Abu Dhabi.

“There will be rides in Dubai's Six Flags Park that will be bigger, better, faster, wider than any other rides in the world,” said John Odum, senior vice president of international operations at Six Flags.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai encourage the development of theme parks in an attempt to increase the flow of tourists from foreign visitors amid falling oil prices.

Six Flags operates around 20 theme and water parks in North America. The company also signed an agreement with Ho Chi Minh City in March to launch two entertainment centers in Vietnam.

Earlier this year, the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, refused the exclusive right to install the Six Flags park in the Gulf region, thereby allowing Saudi Arabia to build a similar complex.
