Already this year, the UAE will deploy a mobile network of the future

Mobile operators in the United Arab Emirates are ready to deploy a 5G network this year.

Telecommunications company Etisalat has announced that it is ready to launch a 5G network for all customers in the UAE this year.

According to representatives of Etisalat, the infrastructure and network are ready for super-fast service.

“Etisalat technical teams are building 600 locations to provide 5G coverage across the country,” said Said Al Zaruni, senior vice president of mobile networks, “Our network and infrastructure will be ready to provide service as soon as 5G mobile phones are available in the UAE. "

Du, the second largest telecom operator in the UAE, plans to increase capital expenditures up to 40 percent this year. This is directly related to investments in 5G networks. This was announced by the Director General du Osman Sultan.

Both operators said that the 5G network is ready and waiting for the moment when devices with 5G support appear on the market.

According to Al Zaruni, the new network will provide significantly higher data transfer speeds.

"With 5G technology, consumers will be able to take advantage of the maximum speed of 4.5 Gbit / s, and with 4G the maximum speed is up to 600 Mbit / s," he said.

“More bandwidth will allow more connections to be processed,” added Al Zaruni.
