Dubai's urban beaches have received the Blue Flag as some of the best in the world.
Dubai, UAE. The popular Dubai city beaches in the Umm Suqeym and Jumeirah districts received the Blue Flags, which officially made them one of the cleanest in the world.
This is not only about water, but also the condition of the beach itself. "Blue Flags" rose above the beaches of Jumeirah 1,2 and 3, as well as Umm Sukheim 1 and 2.
This award is awarded annually by the environmental organization of the same name by the Foundation for Environmental Education for meeting beaches with 33 criteria, including information, territory, water purity and safety for the entire ecosystem. Currently, Blue Flags are fluttering at 4,558 beaches in 44 countries.
