An elite floating villa sank in the coastal waters of the emirate of Dubai.

The Floating Seahorse Floating Villa

On the night of January 3-4, 2018, a floating villa sank in front of the famous seven-star Burj Al Arab hotel. There are no injuries.

According to the Dubai police, citing the Dubai Maritime Authority, the flooding of the houseboat was caused by bad weather conditions - strong gusty winds and high waves. According to unconfirmed information, at the time of the incident, the height of the waves in this region of the Persian Gulf could reach 8 meters.

Recall that The Floating Seahorse, a member of the Kleindienst group of companies, was the sponsor of the large-scale New Year's show Water Adventure Dubai, in which more than a thousand yachts and others dropped anchors in the coastal waters of Dubai on the night of December 31, 2017 watercraft. One of the tasks of the large-scale show was to strengthen the position of the emirate of Dubai on the “world map of marine leisure.” The floating villa, which later sank near the Burj Al Arab Hotel, was used by an international team of DJs for a light show.

According to The Floating Seahorse, their floating forks are designed to provide their owners with the world's first experience of luxurious underwater life. Each villa being built as part of this project has several floors above sea level, as well as an underwater part, which, as conceived by engineers and architects, should be surrounded by an artificial coral reef. Villas should be located in the area of the artificial archipelago of The World Islands, washed four kilometers off the coast of Dubai.
