Dubai police bring lost tourist watch to her home in London

Dubai police decided to hand the watch lost by a British tourist directly into her hands. For this, the officer went to London to deliver a valuable item to the woman’s door.

A resident of Great Britain, who had recently opened the door of her apartment in London, was in for a surprise - a Dubai police officer was standing on the doorstep and delivered the Rolex watch she had lost in the emirate.

Colonel Rashid bin Safwan, director of the Police Lost and Found, said workers found watches worth 100,000 dirhams ($ 27.2 thousand) in the hotel room where the woman lived during her visit to Dubai. They handed the watch to the police, after which the officer contacted a tourist.

"She was happy that the watch was found, and said she would pick it up when she arrived in Dubai next time. When she did not appear, we decided to send her the watch. However, we changed our minds because we did not want them to be lost," said employee

Nine months passed, but the woman never appeared in the emirate.

Not so long ago, the police were invited to a conference in London. The officer invited the staff members of the delegation to take the watch with them and personally deliver them to the woman.

The watch was volunteered by Saeed Hamad bin Suleiman Al Malik, director of the Rashidiya police station. The woman was very happy to return a valuable accessory.
