According to Alexander Nechiporuk, president of the corporation, which emerged after the merger of Crystal JSC Smolensk and ALROSA, Damas was selected as a partner due to its impeccable reputation, which it gained with outstanding product quality and bold decisions.
After the presentation of the new Kristall - Damas joint brand at the Watch & Jewelery Dubai exhibition, Alexander Nechiporuk agreed to answer some questions.
You have been working for export for a long time, however, the Arab market began to develop relatively recently. What is the reason for this?
We have been supplying stones abroad for almost 50 years. Russian diamonds have long been known all over the world: they have some of the best indicators in terms of purity and origin. In the last three years, we began to develop independent trade. Our first offices appeared abroad; There is already an established clientele that directly buys diamonds.
What is interesting for you in the Emirates market?Our stones at this exhibition are present at almost every stand; it is clear that this market has been seriously and thoroughly developed. But if earlier we traded with Arab buyers through Indian and Israeli intermediaries, now a decision has been made to direct diamond sales in the Dubai market. This emirate is now considered the center of world trade, including jewelry.
Is it true that Russia presented at this exhibition a new collection of diamonds in white gold?
This collection is shown by our partner - Smolensk factory "Crystal". He has been working in this market for two years and has some experience in trading and advertising his products. We, as producers of "rough" diamonds, are so far taking only the first independent steps.
Tell us about your new outlets that will appear at the Burj Al Arab Hotel and the Wafi City and BurJuman Centers.
Opens these stores Smolensk "Crystal" in conjunction with Damas. And we plan to establish a crystal trading office in Dubai in the coming months. Our main shareholder - the government of the Russian Federation - decided to merge Smolensk Crystal with Alrosa, which laid the foundation for the main diamond and jewelry production unit. Smolensk "Crystal" together with Damas company promotes our Yakut diamonds, as well as its own products. This includes very high quality diamonds, in particular with a 99-facet cut specially made for Dubai called Dubai Cut.
Let me remind you that Crystal in the production of such high quality diamonds firmly adheres to the highest ethical standards. Each diamond prepared for the Dubai market will have an individual laser-printed number, as well as a certificate of authenticity, which indicates the place of its extraction. A significant part of the products is sold through Damas, to which the new diamond will add even more “weight” to the jewelry world.
