UAE Ministry of Labor will issue temporary work permits everywhere

Following the capital city of Abu Dhabi, the Ministry of Labor will begin issuing temporary work permits, Mission Visa, to companies in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Khalil Khuri, director of the UAE Ministry of Labor’s Department of Work Permits, said the UAE’s Minister of Labor, Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Qaabi, officially announced the opening of a new service in Dubai in late December 2007. This type of visa, Mission Visa, was originally intended for selected sectors of the economy, primarily the oil refining industry, which made it possible to invite foreign specialists to work temporarily on projects.

Mission Visa received a temporary work permit status in the first quarter of 2007, when the Ministry of Labor allowed all categories of companies in the capital city of Abu Dhabi to request it for potential employees. The highest quotas for temporary permits are provided for construction companies and subcontracting companies. Also, it is Mission Visa that will be issued to seasonal workers. Mission Visa is issued for a period of three months. The cost of its design is 500 drx (US $ 139). If desired, Mission Visa can be extended for three additional months for 500 drx (US $ 139) and 3000 drx (US $ 834) of a bank deposit.
