The main thing is that you have an SUV available for this ride, especially if there is not enough adrenaline in your life and you are planning to drive to the Six Senses Zighy Bay Hotel yourself through the mountains that surround it. The pass with steep ascents and descents makes you recall the additional functions of your car, which are almost never used in urban conditions when it makes its way along a stony narrow road, competing with local goats. On the other hand, if you are not looking for special adventures, then right in front of the mountain range surrounding the hotel, his attendant will offer to park your car in a private parking lot and safely deliver you with things to the doors of the main entrance.
In harmony with nature
Nevertheless, risking to make this short but breathtaking journey on my own, my friends and I were welcomed in the lobby with refreshing drinks. Quickly completing the registration process, the butler (the so-called butler), attached to us for the entire stay, escorted to the house. The whole resort looks like a small but respectable village with winding sandy paths leading to low villas with high fences, different number of bedrooms, as well as remoteness from the sea.
Our villa had only one bedroom, but in the spacious living room there were such comfortable sofas that everyone could find where to stay. An open bathroom implies the privacy of the company, but there are two more souls to choose from - in a closed cabin and in the open air, in the home courtyard. Exaggerated simplicity in all natural, wooden-stone interiors, but at the same time there is everything necessary for the comfort of a modern person: a work desk, high-speed Internet, a buffet with a coffee machine and all the necessary accessories for tea, coffee and other drinks.
For body and soul
After drinking herbal tea with dates collected in the hotel's organic garden and sweets from Omani craftsmen, we set off to explore the spa. Designed according to the classical principles of the Six Senses global network, the spa center is a separate building equipped with spacious treatment rooms, a relaxation area, a steam room and a sauna, showers - all, of course, are presented in the same simple style with an Asian accent and the use of natural materials. : wood, reed, bamboo, stone and white sand.
The menu of the proposed procedures impressed with the choice of face and body care programs. We did not experiment and settled on massages with familiar names.
I was especially pleased that there are no strict gender rules here, as in Dubai, and both a man and a woman can be your masseur. Massage rooms are extremely spacious, music plays quietly and smells nice of exotic herbs.
Satisfied, relaxed and thoroughly saturated with aromatic oils that did not want to be washed away, we returned to our cozy house and settled down on the terrace by our pool, taking a nap and lightly browning under the sun's rays. And after the fiesta, a yoga instructor visited us, and leisurely, but effective physical exercises again aroused energy and appetite!
A sumptuous open-air buffet or mountaintop restaurant for two? For two days we visited both, and are satisfied with both - each has its own unique feature, and the dishes served are prepared according to recipes for healthy cuisine and exclusively from environmentally friendly products imported by special order of the hotel.

On the one hand, time flies very quickly, and in two days we did not have time to enjoy all the services of the hotel - paragliding, diving, boat trips from a nearby yacht club, or just swimming in the clear sea with a white sandy beach. But on the other hand, life here flows so slowly and measuredly, that in a short period we managed to fill up with fresh forces and almost plunge into nirvana .... As the resort experts say, this unique feature on its territory is called “Zighy Time”.
Oman has some very positive, relaxing energy. This is how to visit the Maldives, only without a tiring flight and airports. Ideal for short, but "deep" vacations, after which you must immediately rush to work. We will definitely be back here again!
