New home for millennial olive trees

The Heart of Europe project, whose development began on the islands of The World archipelago off the coast of Dubai, will be decorated with 58 trees brought from the Mediterranean.

The project will remind European cities not only of its architecture - when planting it, not only varieties of trees, shrubs or flowers from Southern Europe will be used, 58 adult Mediterranean trees will be brought and planted here, including two olives 1300-1400 years old.

These patriarchs of Mediterranean gardens are accustomed to a hot and arid climate, so they should take root on the islands of the artificial world archipelago The World, located in the Persian Gulf off the coast of Dubai. This was the conclusion of a group of experts in arboriculture from Europe. They will also observe the transportation, planting and acclimatization of trees in Dubai.

Olive trees are a symbol of the Mediterranean - the cradle of modern civilization, and the olive branch is a symbol of peace and harmony between people. The project will unfold on six islands of the archipelago, each island will be stylized as the famous cities of Europe. It is planned to open air-conditioned area, simulating rain and snow on individual streets, the world's largest open aquarium.
