Natalie, have your ideas about beauty changed since you moved to Paris?

Yes! Parisians are stylish, elegant and spectacular. They always look great, but it seems that it does not cost them the slightest labor; They don’t like bright colors, but they have an impeccable complexion. It’s not working out for me so far.

Where do you like to be in Paris?

Paris is beautiful and there are so many wonderful places! What I really like right now is the Louis Vuitton Foundation Museum, Opera, and Tokyo Palace.

And your favorite places around the world?

Japan, Italy, as well as wherever you can scuba dive.

How do you usually paint on the red carpet?

I like to change the images, but I prefer to do makeup with an emphasis on the eyes.

And how do you take care of yourself before this?

I try to observe only two conditions - a good dream and a lot of water. Rested, moisturized skin is the best care.

What other tips, besides training and hydration, can you give people who want to look attractive?

It sounds corny, but I'm sure: to look attractive, you need to do what you love, what makes you happy. Whether it’s a hobby or a family, it doesn’t matter. Only happiness truly transforms people. And so I try to constantly take care of myself, because I see how what I do is reflected on my face. I lead a vegan lifestyle, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly.

Which of your films do you remember the most in terms of new visual images?

One of the advantages of acting is that in a short time you manage to try on a variety of images and personalities. In the movie "V - means Vendetta" I shaved my head and felt easy and free. In "Black Swan" in dance scenes, I was in a very beautiful and complex stage makeup. In Star Wars, I experimented with kabuki makeup. And when I starred in the film "Leon", the director did not want to have too much makeup on me, and make-up artists took beetroot juice to create a natural blush.

How do you relax from work?

I really love to read. It reassures me. The Gyrotonic exercise system and massage are also very relaxing.

How do you choose a foundation for makeup - do you use different bases for different occasions?

When I'm on the red carpet, I prefer a denser foundation with emphasis on the eyes or on the lips. Most of all I like Diorskin Forever and Rouge Dior. For makeup for every day I use a tonal moisturizer with a lighter shade, for example, Diorskin Nude. And when I'm going to dinner with friends, I use something in between.

Diorskin Forever creates a light, like a second skin, finish for the whole day. Do you use this cream every day or on special occasions?
I just love this cream! It is easy to apply, does not clog pores and looks great. I use it every day because it feels like I don’t have any tonal means on me.
Do you prefer moisturized makeup or a radiant glow?
I like the blush of clean washed skin. I achieve this effect using The Dior Glow Maximizer. This primer emphasizes the natural, natural radiance of the skin.
The best advice that make-up artists have given you?
"Use the sponges!"
Do you think cooperation with Dior will affect your career?
Working with such wonderful women as Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, Rihanna and Charlize Theron is a great honor, and I am extremely lucky that I can be equal with them. I have been working with Dior for a very long time, and they always supported me, helped me grow. I had one more luck - I was able to visit with my colleagues in such amazing places that otherwise I would never have been.
What book, as well as cosmetic, item, film and food, would you bring with you to a desert island?
The book is any from Elena Ferrante. The cosmetic product is Dior Bronze sunscreen for the body. The subject is music in any accessible form. The film is "Upstart". Food - Vegetarian Couscous.
When do you feel the most beautiful?
When I dance
How does a woman fully reveal her beauty?
I think you need to experiment. Very often, the trait with which the woman is most embarrassed becomes her main trump card and the basis of the whole image - whether it be a dent between the teeth, large facial features or a birthmark.
When did you become more involved in your appearance and personal style?
When I was pregnant.
What projects are you currently working on? Can you talk about them?

This spring will be my directorial debut - the film "The Tale of Love and Darkness" about the writer Amos Oz, I am very excited and very nervous, since this project is very personal for me. The picture was shown in Cannes and at the Toronto Film Festival. In addition, Gavin O'Connor's "Jane Takes a Gun" and Terrence Malik's "Knight of the Cups" were released. Also, they are waiting for me to shoot in four more films, one after another. A lot of work, but I am proud of each of these projects.
What advice would you give to women who are torn between a career and family life?
Take a break for yourself. We all set ourselves very high standards. If your day went wrong - do not take it personally. It will always be tomorrow. It is very important to make time for yourself. It’s easy to forget about it, but this time is the most important thing.
