Restaurant Overview

Aji

The new Aji restaurant (pronounced "Ahi") is located on Palm Jumeirah next to the Vista Mare Club. The first thing that captivates is the interior. Bright graffiti on the walls, stylish ethnic details, sakura and Japanese umbrellas. Add to this the sea breeze and views of the Persian Gulf, and you will get a place where you want to come with friends every Thursday after a working week. The Vista Mare Club itself is a new trendy place on the map of Dubai. Recently, a wide variety of restaurants and bars have opened here - with verandas on the street, sea views and the atmosphere of a Mediterranean resort town. But the Aji restaurant is noticeably different from the rest. Aji Concept - Japanese-Peruvian Cuisine. How could such diverse culinary traditions come together, you ask? The thing is that quite a lot of Japanese emigrated to Peru at one time, who brought their own culture and deftly connected with the Peruvian.

So the Nikkei cuisine was born - an actual trend representing an explosive mixture of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. In the capital of Peru, Lima, many restaurants and cafes prepare food in the Nikey style, but only a few years ago this direction began its journey around the world.

Aji in Dubai successfully combines creativity, excellent performance and, which is also very important, maintains excellent value for money. The restaurant staff will be happy to tell you about all the specialties (without their comments, you are unlikely to figure it out yourself).

Start with the syromi tacos — tacos with sea bass and yuzu ceviche — and the oases of oributako, one of several classic Peruvian dishes on the menu. Tacos are very light, citrus and hearty at the same time, but they cannot compare with kausa. Fatty, tender octopus, dense and slightly sour mashed potatoes, sharp thick olives mayonnaise ... One of the restaurant's specialties is sushi with foie gras. The opportunity to have an exquisite dinner is not provided very often. Get ready for a shock.

Indie brunch

More recently, the Indie Kitchen & Lounge in the DIFC financial district has introduced a new type of themed Saturday brunch. An energetic, fascinating show will unfold on stage - a great addition to experimental modernist cuisine. And after 5 pm everyone is invited to dance. The brunch itself lasts from one in the afternoon until six.

The brunch itself is big and serious: eat as many snacks as you can, one great main course and a tempting dessert. Do not hold back your appetite - the food here is very good. Girls who still limit themselves can order an abridged version of the brunch - Brunch * D - from an hour to three days. The mood is facilitated by live music and DJs. The interior design is designed in an industrial style that reflects the spirit of the restaurant: sophisticated dishes and outstanding craft drinks.

Each brunch has a theme - every week a new one. We were lucky to get to the “police” brunch: the whole restaurant was surrounded by a yellow ribbon, the waiters walked in caps, and chalk contours of corpses were drawn on the floor. You may or may not like all this - but you will definitely like the food.

Kyo

The Kyo Restaurant on Palm Jumeirah is a French look at Japanese cuisine. It looks very formal: the ceilings are higher, the colors are strict, the business waiters - but in reality it turns out to be much closer to the people (the prices are also quite affordable).

Kyo immediately impresses with its garden for 200 people - a calm, beautiful place full of greenery and bonsai trees. It seems like you can spend a few hours here perfectly, even if you don't order anything. The internal Kyo room is smaller - there are approximately 50 seats. It is cozy and designed in warm red and "wooden" colors. The walls of the hall and sushi bar are decorated with tastefully selected Japanese paintings. The menu, of course, has an elaborate sushi card. But you should not stop only on sushi - the menu is very diverse.

The appetizer map has many interesting combinations: tuna, watermelon, olive chimichurri and shiso; pumpkin tofu, black rice and sweet and sour sauce; oxtail, Chinese cabbage and Anakake citrus sauce. Try the scallops, chestnut milk and tongue of the sea urchin and ebi no gyuza with shrimp and wasabi sauce. Prices are quite reasonable.

But keep in mind, Kyo does not sell alcohol. However, it is worth trying branded non-alcoholic cocktails: for example, berry beer made from mashed berry, whole berries, ginger beer, elderberry and lingonberry juice.

Blue Marlin Ibiza brunch

If you're looking for a nice way to spend your weekend, and the weather is nice outside, then check out Blue Marlin for a Saturday brunch. To get started, take fresh sushi, mini-burgers, Spanish omelettes or shrimp kebabs and drink an appetizer with a signature cocktail. And then look at the chefs on the terrace and choose a meat dish - fresh from the hot grill. But do not forget to leave a little space for dessert: apple crumble and cheesecake deserve the highest praise. If you prefer outdoor activities, then after lunch you can go water skiing, and if passive, go to bed and sunbathe under a soft house until sunset.

During the season, several thematic brunches are replaced here. Recent topics include Brazil, Summer of Love, and Water Recreation. Chefs Blue Marlin, sitting right on the terrace, prepare Mediterranean dishes - you just want to steal something with their barbecue. Fresh sushi and a dessert bar are also available.
