The troupe Orb Theatricals brings to Dubai its third full-length play, Mother's Night, which will be shown at The Junction Theater on April 26 and 27. The play is a staging of the drama of Marsha Norman, for which she received the Pulitzer Prize in 1983.
The plot is based on the fate of Jesse Cates, a divorced single mother who lives with her elderly mother Thelma. Thelma is happy with her simple life and routine, consisting of Saturday manicure and crochet, and is completely unaware of her daughter's problems.
One Saturday night, Jesse tells her mother about her inner struggle, sending her on a painful journey to save her daughter from depression.
