Dubai, UAE. The first emirate cosmonaut Hazza Al Mansouri and his understudy Sultan Al Neyyadi first tried on their Sokol-KV-2 spacesuits designed to fly on the ISS at the Zvezda NPO site in Moscow.

According to Sergey Pozdnyakov, general director and chief designer of the Zvezda research and production enterprise, usually two or three fittings are carried out, after which trials of space suits with astronauts are conducted in the pressure chamber.

It was previously reported that the astronauts returned to Moscow after completing training at the European Cosmonaut Training Center in Germany. Sokol-KV-2 spacesuits are worn by all astronauts traveling into space on the Soyuz spacecraft during launch and landing, as they protect them from potentially dangerous conditions in zero gravity.

During the fitting, the astronaut should sit in a spacesuit when he is in an inflated condition. Fitting in an astronaut’s chair, made by individual standards, lasts for two hours. It is worth recalling that before the Khazza Al Mansouri’s flight to Earth’s orbit, 11 weeks remained - it will be held on September 25 this year.
