Of the 8755 deaths reported four years earlier, 867 (9.9 percent) were related to cancer. According to experts, last year’s results are likely to coincide with the old indicators.

According to the second annual statistical report of the UAE National Cancer Registry, which collects data for 2015, breast cancer is the leading cause of death in this category. Malignant tumors of the trachea and lungs - in second place.

The incidence rate per 100 thousand women in the UAE is 87.3, and men - 27.2. Cancer of the breast, colon and rectum, and thyroid cancer were called the most common types of cancer in both sexes.

Breast, colon, thyroid, leukemia and prostate cancer are the most common types of cancer among expats. Among the emirates, this is cancer of the breast, colon, thyroid gland, leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas.
