Special police units from around the world met in Dubai

Representatives of elite police special forces from around the world met face to face in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Fighters from special forces groups and units from fifty countries of the world will compete and hone their skills at special UAE Swat Challenge games that are taking place these days in Dubai for five days.

UAE Swat Challenge 2019 competitions started on Sunday, February 10, 2019 on the territory of the special Al Ruwayaa Training City campus and will last until February 14. 60 well-trained teams take part in it, including from the USA, Italy, France, Argentina and Russia.

Professionals will show their skills in various tests, such as rescuing hostages, ensuring a security perimeter against snipers during visits by government officials, rescuing police and civilians caught in shelling and other high-risk situations that require skills and abilities beyond the capabilities of ordinary cops.

From the United Arab Emirates, teams of professionals from Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah are represented at the competitions.

UAE Swat Challenge Games are organized and held with the support of Sheikh Safe Bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of the UAE. “This event is an opportunity for all of us to get to know each other better and share experiences,” said Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Chief of Criminal Investigation Department of Dubai Police.

In addition to invaluable experience every day, the top three teams will receive rewards in the amount of five, three and two thousand US dollars. The main prize in the amount of US $ 70 thousand according to the results of the competition will be awarded to the winning team. Teams that took 2nd and 3rd place will receive US $ 30 thousand and US $ 20 thousand, respectively.
