The Crown Prince of Dubai got acquainted with the design of futuristic capsules Dubai Sky Pod.
Mattar Al Thayer, CEO and Chairman of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), demonstrated to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Board of Dubai, futuristic public transport - Dubai Sky Pod.
The Dubai Sky Pod project consists of two concepts - Unibike and Unicar. Unibike is a small rail vehicle, and Unicar is a network of capsules for transporting passengers up to 200 km. Capsules can hold up to six passengers and travel at a maximum speed of 150 km / h. The system is capable of serving about 50 thousand passengers per hour.
For the futuristic system to work, an area of 100 times smaller than conventional vehicles will be required, and the energy efficiency of the capsules shows results five times higher than electric vehicles.
