Dubai's population exceeds 3.1 million

In the third quarter of 2018, the population of Dubai reached 3.1 million people.

Dubai, UAE. The population of Dubai over the year grew by 232,400 and reached 3,136,400, the Dubai Statistics Center said. Over the past year, the population increased by 7.7%, which indicates the growth of the emirate as an economic and tourist center.

It should also be noted that the daily population of Dubai is growing to 4,291,400 people, since 1,155,000 of all workers in Dubai live in the neighboring emirates and come to work in the daytime. The number of “temporary residents” has also increased by 6.6% over the past year.

The population growth in Dubai depends on economic factors, while in other countries there is a natural increase or decrease in the population due to the birth and death of residents. This factor at the same time affects the indigenous population of the UAE.

According to the latest data, at present, there is a gender imbalance in the local population in Dubai, which is 49.5% to 50.5%, namely, out of 100 women emirates, there are only 89 male emirates. In general, in Dubai, taking into account all expats, 2 195 480 men and 940 920 women live. Thus, for every 100 females there are 233 males. 66.45% of the total population are people aged 20 to 44 years.
