Dubai seven-star hotel awaits renovation next summer

Burj Al Arab in Dubai will be updated in the summer of 2019.

According to the director of the Jumeirah hotel group, Jose Silva, the legendary sailing hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai is waiting for repairs in the summer of 2019.

"We will also repair Burj Al Arab, probably in the summer of 2019," he said, talking about another project - Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Details of the future reconstruction were not provided, but it may depend on Dubai Holding’s global project Dubai Marsa Al Arab worth $ 1.7 billion, which includes two new artificial islands on both sides of the hotel.

Marsa Al Arab also includes hotels, theaters, shopping areas, a marina, business district, residences and luxury villas, and aims to support Expo 2020 and the Dubai tourism sector. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Silva said that Jumeirah is also going to build ultra-luxury hotels like Burj Al Arab, including in Europe.

"There are things that everyone wants to do in time for life, and visiting Burj Al Arab is one of them. Many people go on a trip to see Burj Al Arab," he added.

Jumeirah is about to launch a new ultra-luxury brand in the fall of 2018. Silva confirmed that the hotels will maintain the same price level as Burj Al Arab - about $ US 2 thousand per night for some types of rooms.
