Donald Trump has scheduled a meeting with the UAE government

U.S. President Donald Trump plans to visit the Gulf countries in the spring of 2018.

US President Donald Trump will meet with leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar in the next couple of months. These events embody Washington’s efforts to resolve conflicts between the Gulf countries.

In March and April, Donald Trump plans to meet with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Ibn Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince Abu Dhabi UAE Armed Forces and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

On the agenda of the meetings: the organization of the Gulf Cooperation Council Summit to be held later this year, as well as the creation of a peaceful environment in the Middle East and Iran.

It is worth recalling that the UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, in June last year stopped tourist and trade relations with Qatar, accusing the state of supporting terrorism and the unfriendly policy of Iran. However, Doha rejected all charges.

By the summer, Washington hopes to lay the foundations for the upcoming summit.

"We hope that the conflict will be resolved before the summit, this will allow us to focus on other strategic issues, such as Iran," the US authorities said.
