The state will build 7 thousand houses for citizens of the UAE

The UAE approved one of the largest housing development programs until 2021.

For citizens of the UAE, as part of one of the largest residential development projects, more than 7,000 houses will be built. The day before, Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved the budget for a three-year program for the construction of residential buildings for UAE citizens. For these purposes, the state allocated 7.2 billion dirhams. In total, 7270 houses will be built under the program.

Here is what Sheikh Mohammed himself said on this occasion: "His Highness Sheikh Zayed ibn Sultan Al Nahyan has laid the foundation for housing construction in the UAE, whose main goal is to ensure a high standard of living and prosperity for citizens."

Sheikh said that today about 80% of UAE citizens have their own housing, which is one of the highest rates in the world.

"Guided by the principles laid down by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa ibn Zayed Al Nahyan, we have implemented various housing projects in several emirates that meet the highest standards, taking into account the peculiarities of the family structure of the emirates," said Sheikh Mohammed.

"We have instructed the relevant authorized government agencies to provide the new built-up areas with the most modern and efficient infrastructure."

The government has not yet identified areas for future development.

It is worth noting that in November another construction project was approved, providing for the construction of housing in Abu Dhabi to accommodate 200 thousand people. The new project will be called Riyadh City and will make up almost half of Abu Dhabi's housing stock.

In addition to housing issues, the committee meeting also addressed issues of healthcare, education, environmental protection and the agricultural sector.
