Abu Dhabi introduces an electric bus, fully manufactured in the United Arab Emirates.
Dubai, UAE. The Eco-Bus electric bus, created by the Emirate companies Masdar and Halifat, was presented at an environmental exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The bus can travel 150 km on a single battery charge.
The project partners were also the Masdar Institute and the Khalifa University of Science and Technology. The bus is 10.5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. It can carry 27 people at a time. In the near future, tests of the new vehicle will begin on the territory of the eco-town "Masdar".
As noted at the presentation, the eco-bus is a great example of environmentally friendly innovations and successful cooperation between UAE enterprises and international experts. The Masdar Institute hopes that it will inspire other innovators to new inventions, and will also stimulate the use of electric buses in hot climates.
