More than 400 women took part in the world's first women’s hurdle race in the emirate of Sharjah, UAE.

The race, organized by the Sharjah Girl Guides (SGG), included water, ice and sand obstacles on a three-kilometer track for girls aged 7 to 12 years and on a four-kilometer track for participants aged 13 to 23 years.

The winners were awarded prizes - gold medals, watches from Apple and special offers from Sharjah Ladies Club.

"We are extremely proud of everyone who participated in our obstacle race, winners, runners-up, and each of the participants individually," said Shaykh Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, SGG manager.

She added that the organizers would like to see more and more people choosing a healthy and active lifestyle through the event.
