UAE buyer purchases $ 1.3 million ring at auction

At a Christie's auction, a resident of the United Arab Emirates purchased a ring for $ 1.3 million.

Lot 494, a diamond ring for $ 1.3 million, was sold at the next Christie's auction. A resident of the UAE, who submitted his application on the Internet, became the buyer of the diamond ring weighing just over 33 carats.

“The UAE has been a very important market for us for a very long time,” said Rahul Kadakia, Christie's international jewelry director who chaired the auction.

The most important event of the auction was the sale of Creation I, a necklace of the Geneva jewelry brand de Grisogono. The central element of the necklace is a gem weighing 163.41 carats, which has become the largest flawless diamond ever put up for auction. The stone was extracted from rough stone measuring 404.20 carats, found in Angola, the 27th largest diamond in history.

The lot value amounted to 33.5 million francs ($ 33.8 million), which was a new record.
