Secrets of Mastery

Empire independently imports tropical wood, including the most exotic: mahogany, merbau, meranti, lemon tree, amaranth (purple tree), rosewood and teak. But still the main material is mahogany.

It was first brought to Europe by English sailors, and soon its heavy dense wood of unusual color with a rich texture was appreciated by the craftsmen. It is not only beautiful, but also durable - provided that it was correctly prepared for production.

It is no coincidence that the production of luxury furniture can be compared to the manufacture of musical instruments. The selection and preparation of wood comes to the fore. There are different standards.

So, in the manufacture of furniture in tropical countries, the permissible moisture content of wood is 14-16%, since during the manufacturing process the furniture gains moisture corresponding to the local climate. In addition, the humidity that the furniture absorbs during transportation is taken into account.

However, Empire can deal with humidity the way it is done around the world. The wood blank is brought to transport moisture, the ends are processed in it; after that it is carefully packed. Inside the vehicle are special absorbers of excess moisture.

Finished furniture is transported to the UAE by sea containers. Rush orders are delivered by air at the buyer's expense.

Living rooms and kitchens

Although the company does not deal with "turnkey" kitchen furniture, it can offer dining areas for dining rooms, as well as design and manufacture facades from solid mahogany for cabinet kitchen furniture.

Most of the time spent at home falls into the kitchen, and even it itself has long ceased to be an exclusively cooking place, and has turned into a real "traffic intersection", where the most multidirectional streams intersect. In the kitchen, not only and not so much they cook and eat, but also talk, watch TV, work, finally.

Therefore, the modern organization of space allows it to combine a wide variety of social functions, and original solutions make kitchen furniture an independent genre in furniture art.

From antiquity to modernity

All Empire products are made only from natural materials: mahogany, rattan, water hyacinth, tigras. Marble, onyx and 24-carat gold are also used. Designers of the company successfully found a compromise between modern technologies and ancient techniques that they adhere to, for example, when applying gold leaf.

Furniture, models for which are the headsets of the Mikhailovsky Palace in St. Petersburg, is not inferior in quality to English, but wins in price significantly. Every year it gains more and more value, becoming a family property, and possibly modern antiques. It is no accident that it takes an average of three months to produce one item for an individual order.

Even the majestic and bulky tables, cabinets and chests of drawers made of mahogany look very elegant. Widespread use of this type of wood began in the XVIII century. In the second half of the same century, a classicist direction arose, the highest point and the final chord of which was the Empire style.

The style of Louis XVI already contained all those elements that, having gone through the stages of the formation of the Directory, finally took shape in the decade between the coronation of Napoleon in 1804 and 1813. The first emperor of France sought to surround himself with the splendor and splendor that the Roman emperors had once surrounded. Soon the empire spread throughout Europe. His Russian became especially beautiful and diverse.
direction. In contrast to the classicism of the times of Louis XVI, the development of antique forms for furniture in the Empire style had the character of direct borrowing.

The surfaces of cabinet furniture were decorated with elements of classical architecture - columns, pilasters, cornices, and the design of tables and chairs appeared motifs transferred from antique furniture: sphinxes, griffins, caryatids.

However, Empire designers are able to flexibly respond to customer wishes and adapt the "classic" proportions and sizes to individual needs. First of all, this concerns decorative details - such as eagle heads, animal legs, covering the ball, flowers and vines.
