Dubai metro green line stations will resemble the Arab city

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, approved the conceptual design project for the green line stations of the Dubai Metro, whose creators drew inspiration from the national heritage of the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed approved the conceptual designs of two stations: Al Ras and Al Gubayba, located in the historical part of the city. The projects of the remaining green line stations will be developed in accordance with the general design concept, but taking into account their location.

The design of the stations is based on playing out elements of the national heritage, both in the UAE as a whole and in Dubai in particular. The elements of landscape design and architecture, traditional for the area, are used and will be imitated in it, such as narrow streets, alcoves, wind towers, internal arches and others. For decoration, it is planned to use traditional colors of sand colors and favorite decor elements: lanterns, grilles, jugs. At the same time, the approved design of the new stations fully complies with the general concept of the Dubai Metro project, where four elements are taken as the basis: earth, water, fire and air. This will allow the stations to organically fit into the historical part of the city: they will resemble both the traditional Arab market and the Dubai Ethnographic Heritage Village, becoming part of the new history of Dubai.

The external design of the stations will also fit into the environment and will become one with the shores of Dubai Bay. Externally, the stations are planned to be decorated in the form of sea shells, which will indicate a long tradition of pearl mining.

Also, the approved design of the stations ensures maximum operational safety and security for passengers and employees of the metro.
