The code of honor required the Knights of the Round Table to be courageous in battle and generous in spirit. These same virtues determine the creed of Roger Dubuis. Inspired by the exploits of King Arthur’s comrades-in-arms, the masters of the Geneva watch manufactory created a limited edition Excalibur specifically for the “modern knights”.
Gerard Butler began working with Roger Dubuis in 2011. For him, who grew up in Paisley, a small town in the countryside of Scotland, luxury at the Roger Dubuis level was something beyond. Therefore, Butler’s first acquaintance with the world of elite watches was rather emotional in nature.
It all started with the fact that Gerard turned his attention to the Excalibur watch in the store window. Intrigued by his closest in spirit and style of watches, he decided to get to know the famous watch house more closely. To this end, he visited the manufactory in Geneva, saw all the stages of watch production and was, according to him, completely conquered. After that, he was invited to become the brand’s ambassador and now wears watches from the Excalibur collection with pleasure.
Today, the original Roger Dubuis watches are the most relevant and prestigious accessories that only a select few can afford. Gerard himself admits that “there is much in common between watchmaking and cinema: both are fraught with an accurate and unmistakable mechanism that generates a deep emotional response. A thirst for innovation, a spirit of creativity and freedom Roger Dubuis fully meet my principles. In life, you need to be able to take risks and move only forward!".
AESTHETICS WITHOUT COMPROMISE
According to Roger Dubois, the founder of the company, he chose the profession of a watchmaker as a child, but only in 1995, after forty years of work in the watch industry, Dubois created his own manufactory.
At the moment, the company presents 4 collections - La Monégasque, Excalibur, Pulsion and Velvet.
The Excalibur collection combines avant-garde and energetic design with sophisticated mechanisms of its own production.
The line features models with a tourbillon and automatic winding, with a repeater and retrograde date and day indexes. Particularly noteworthy is the model with a double tourbillon equipped with an updated manufactory mechanism RD01. The main task of the watchmakers of the brand was the synchronization of two “flying” tourbillons working in unison, making one revolution per minute, which further increases the reliability of the course.
