MUNICIPALITY OF DUBAI ANNOUNCED THE “READ ON THE BEACH” PROGRAM FOR CREATING PUBLIC LIBRARIES ON CITY BEACHES.
The idea of creating libraries on the beaches for the UAE is not new - in 2014 such a library appeared in Abu Dhabi. Dubai's beaches attract hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, libraries will be located at such distances from each other to be accessible to all reading enthusiasts from anywhere beaches stretching for kilometers. Small libraries will work not only during daylight hours - a solar-powered lighting system will allow reading enthusiasts to enjoy a good book under the sound of waves even after sunset.
