What could be more "British" than a fine cup of tea, sandwiches and rolls with strawberry jam? DUKES Dubai Hotel at Palm Jumeirah in Dubai is now ready to offer guests traditional afternoon tea - the epitome of British hospitality - in the new British Tea Lounge.
For centuries, traditional service has been a hallmark of British hospitality and can now be found on the third floor of the hotel.
Every day, the duchess's breakfast will be offered to the ladies in private from 6.30 to 11.00. A continental breakfast with fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, cold dishes, fresh juices and cocktails awaits guests in a separate area.
Karl Chapman, DUKES Dubai Restaurant Manager, said: “Visitors can touch one of the best British traditions and enjoy the best afternoon tea in Dubai in a beautiful and modern setting with an elegant atmosphere.”
He noted that the surroundings are bright pink, orange and green shades, sculptural gold chairs made of metal and light, bright interiors.
“A peaceful environment is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the perfect place to relax and unwind,” he added.
The traditional serving is accompanied by canapes, a variety of pastries and freshly baked buns. Tea is kindly provided by Tchaba international tea brand with an exquisite assortment of loose leaf teas. Porcelain ware was specially designed for the tea room by the famous British brand William Edwards.
Visitors can also add a little sparkle to their day and enjoy cocktails.
The lounge can accommodate up to 80 people, while the private area seats 25 people. There is also a seating area on the terrace with stunning views of the Jumeirah Beach Residence.
The tea lounge is open from noon until 23.00. Afternoon tea is served until 6 p.m. Guests can choose The London Tea - tea for a choice of sommelier - 170 dirhams ($ 46.3) or The Palm Tea with a glass of Taittinger Brut NV for 320 dirhams ($ 87.1).
