Dubai included Russian holidays in the January sales calendar.
Dubai, UAE. Dubai's Department of Economic Development and Dubai's Festivals and Retail Department have announced a 2019 sales calendar.
For the first time, Russian holidays appeared on the calendar - from January 4 to 12, 2019. The new initiative aims to increase spending by visitors from Russia, as well as Russian-speaking residents of the UAE. "This is a great opportunity for Russians to make discounted purchases during the festival season," the report says.
It is worth noting that Russian vacations have become part of the traditional Dubai Shopping Festival, which starts on December 26, 2018 and lasts until February 2, 2019, or a week longer than in previous years.
A total of 18 events are planned in the sales calendar for 247 days. It is curious that this year only 12 events and festivals took place, and discounted goods could be purchased within 178 days.
