Citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates can apply for an international driver’s license through a mobile application.
Citizens and residents of the UAE will now be able to apply for an international driver’s license online or through a mobile application, the country's Interior Ministry said.
The service was launched in collaboration with the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE.
Muhammad bin Suleiem, chairman of the club, confirmed that the license will be valid for one year.
International law can serve as an identity document in case of loss of a passport.
The service will be available in 10 languages. This initiative is expected to reduce the time it takes to grant rights and improve customer service.
The Ministry intends to expand the list of services provided on its website and in the application for smartphones, in accordance with the initiative of the electronic government of the UAE. This will provide public services to people, wherever they are, around the clock and seven days a week.
