Dubai opens a new transport tunnel near the airport.
Dubai, UAE. A new transport tunnel that connects Airport Road and Marrakech Street will open on July 20, the Dubai Committee on Roads and Transport said. The tunnel will greatly facilitate traffic in the vibrant Umm Ramool area.
The tunnel is part of a road infrastructure development project in the area of Dubai International Airport. The project includes the construction of two three-lane bridges on Airport Street, as well as a viaduct towards Terminal 3.
Thanks to the new tunnels and bridges, travel time will be reduced by 6 minutes on this route - passengers and drivers will no longer have to cross the intersections that were previously in the area 4. It should be noted that an understudy route was constructed in Terminals 1 and 3 as part of the project from the residential area of Al Garhoud.
