More and more women join the UAE army

Officials note an increased number of women emirates among military personnel in the United Arab Emirates.

According to officials, more and more women emirates join the UAE armed forces and join the ranks with men, which is an encouraging signal.

"During the formation of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had a number of priorities, including ensuring security and prosperity for both men and women," said Dr. Zubaydah Jassim Al Maazmi, Assistant Professor at Abu Dhabi Police College .

The commander of Khawla Bint Azwar, the first women's military school, Colonel Afra Al Saeed Al Falasi, said she was proud that women held high positions in the armed forces.

“If a woman can prove that she is better in a certain position, then she should take this position. It depends on her education and abilities. If a person is motivated, he can take any place, regardless of gender,” she said.

"In the beginning, we faced problems, including the perception of female officers, but now everything has changed. We see how many families support their sons and daughters so that they join the armed forces," Al Falasi said.

Senior officials note that a growing number of women in the armed forces guarantee balance and efficiency.
