Dubai, UAE. In the nine months of 2017, Dubai was visited by 11.58 million foreign tourists, including almost 300 thousand Russians.
Reportedly, over the past year Russia has shown the most active growth in tourist flow - by 95%. The leaders of the rating are India (almost 1.5 million tourists), Saudi Arabia (1.25 million) and the United Kingdom (905 thousand), according to the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai.
The main reason for the growth of the flow from Russia is the facilitation of the visa regime. From the beginning of 2017, Russians can apply for UAE visas upon arrival for 30 days with the possibility of extension for another 30 days. Amid growing demand, the number of direct flights from Russian cities to Dubai has grown significantly.
Thus, in the winter season, FlyDubai operates 40 flights a week to 10 cities - Moscow, Makhachkala, Ufa, Voronezh, Kazan, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Yekaterinburg. The airline notes that the growth of its passenger traffic in Russia in the first half of 2017 amounted to 45% compared to the same period last year.
