Towards Strengthening Russian-Emirate Cultural Relations

On April 14, 2008, the Consulate General of Russia in Dubai and the Northern Emirates together with the Rustar company organized a friendly evening to which were invited: the head of the UAE Business Women Council, Her Highness Sheikh Hind Al-Qasimi, representative of the Renaissance Women's Association in Dubai and Sharjah, the spouses of consuls general accredited in Dubai, as well as our compatriots living in the UAE.

The venue for this event was a luxurious wooden pleasure ship owned by Rustar. The main manager of this largest Dow boat in Dubai Creek is the charming and young Elvira Gubaeva, who confidently managed the organization of the meeting of distinguished guests. From the very beginning, this seemingly semi-official reception turned into a meeting of friends. The atmosphere was the most friendly, despite the international composition of the participants and their different social and social status. High-ranking representatives of the Emirate’s women freely communicated with their friends and colleagues, vividly discussing a variety of topics, from politics to fashion and the features of national cuisines.

Of course, this became possible because the organizer and soul of this evening was the wife of the Consul General of Russia Larisa Krasnogor, who enjoys great authority both in the emirate’s female circles and in the diplomatic corps. The participants were shown a documentary from the cycle "Russia and Arabs" about the history of the emergence of Islam on Russian soil, received by the guests with great interest.

According to the participants themselves, the evening was another important step towards strengthening Russian-Emirate cultural relations.
