Dubai metro fares below Paris and London

The fare in the Dubai Metro, which will be launched in September this year, will range from 80 fils (US $ 0.20) to 14 dirhams (US $ 3.90).

The Dubai Metro will be divided into five zones, each of which has its own free parking spaces for metro passengers and direct connection with other types of public transport. The cost of a one-time metro ride will be from 80 fils (US $ 0.20) to 6.50 dirhams (US $ 1.80), depending on the zone, which is cheaper than a ticket in the Paris metro for 1.60 euros (about 8 dirhams). Tickets for multiple trips during the day will be sold at 14 dirhams (US $ 3.90), which is much cheaper than London Underground tickets, which are sold at 4 pounds (about 24 dirhams (US $ 6.5)).

According to the Dubai Committee for Roads and Transport (RTA), it is expected that at least 30% of the city’s residents will use metro services in the first stage. Representatives of the committee also expressed confidence that Dubai metro fare will be more favorably accepted by Dubai residents than fare on the new monorail on the man-made island of The Palm Jumeirah, which is 15 dirhams (US $ 4.1) for one-way and 25 dirhams (US $ 7) - round trip.

Recall that the first metro line, "red", which opens in September, will connect the 52-kilometer stretch of route from the Rashidiya district to Jebel Ali. Dubai metro passengers will be able to park their cars in free parking lots for a while, while they will use metro trains to travel around the city.
