When May and June following it inexorably approached, for some reason for the first time in many years I thought not about vacation soon, but about the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory and the role of these two months in the modern history of Russia and its neighboring countries. In June 1941, the Great Patriotic War began, and in May 1945 it ended in the complete defeat of the Nazis. The understanding of the inexorable fact that not far off was the day in May or June, when not a single veteran of that war would remain on Earth, not a single person who could tell his descendants about all the horrors that had passed, hurt me. How then, in their absence, celebrating the 90th or 100th anniversary of the Victory, we will be able to preserve the legacy that was left to us, the life given to us? I wanted my dear readers to share my thoughts on this with all those who remember, who do not want to forget. So, starting “alone”, my conversation turned into a conversation with everyone - with parents who live far from the UAE, with diplomats representing now various independent states that were once the USSR, with students and teachers of Russian schools in the UAE, with colleagues and friends. Thank God that, despite the sometimes diametrically opposite views on many things, we are united in our thoughts about the Great Patriotic War and the significance of victory in it. Genetic memory does not allow us to forget, and as long as we remember - we are alive.And yet, after thinking about the serious, the tragic and the big, comes the realization that everything in this life is transient, and the change of seasons is eternal. Spring is gradually losing ground and giving way to the first month of summer! With its graduation balls and the first strawberries from the garden, not from the supermarket, bright summer dresses and peonies blooming, with the smiles of girls and light (finally!) Shoes - sandals, ballet shoes and slates. Here it is, joy! In Dubai, however, this joy is somewhat overshadowed by the increase in daytime temperatures, however, hot summer days and evenings can be useful if you, of course, do not travel to your hometowns or go to explore new countries immediately after graduation from schools.
In the meantime, there is a “blooming and singing bright May” in the courtyard, many surprises await you - concerts of Russian and foreign pop stars, art exhibitions and theater premieres, unique promotions in the most popular shopping centers, hotels and water parks. Well, is it worth it to be alone with yourself at such a wonderful time? Isn't it better to rejoice with every and every effort to every new day of the inexorably approaching summer? Meet, chat, fall in love and smile more often! Summer is at your doorstep! Run to open the door for him ...
