Dubai imposes large fines for the dumping of litter on Al Qudra lakes.
Dubai, UAE. The fine for the dumping of garbage on the lakes of Al Qudra will be 500 dirhams (US $ 137) - this decision was made by the Dubai municipality. Despite the fact that around the lakes, where local residents often relax, 200 garbage cans were put up and 20 people were attracted for cleaning, tourists continue to leave waste near the lakes and throw them into the water.
So, over the weekend, more than 2,000 garbage bags are removed from the lakes. Such behavior threatens the life of 175 species of birds and other animals and fish that live on lakes. It is plastic waste that causes the mass death of representatives of the local fauna. Moreover, some vacationers even manage to pour chemicals and detergents into the water.
Now, inspectors will carefully monitor the actions of vacationers: for an initial violation of the rules, a fine of 500 dirhams will be charged - the receipt will be attached to the windshield of the car, and if the violation is repeated, the amount of the fine will be doubled.
