Flydubai expands geography of flights in Kazakhstan to three directions

Flydubai is expanding its route network in Central Asia with the start of flights to Astana.

Dubai, UAE: Flydubai Airlines announces the launch of flights to Astana, in its third destination in Kazakhstan. By flying twice a week, Flydubai becomes the first Dubai-based carrier to establish direct flights with the capital of Kazakhstan.

Speaking at a press conference in Astana, Gate Al Gate, CEO of Flydubai, said: “Astana is an important addition to the Flydubai network as we continue to expand our presence in Central Asia. A year after the launch in Kazakhstan, we serve three cities in this country, thus demonstrating our readiness to further strengthen Dubai’s connections with new destinations. Traveling to Dubai has never been more comfortable, and we hope that we will be able to provide passengers from the UAE and Kazakhstan with the opportunity to open for themselves both countries. "

Flydubai entered the Kazakhstan market in September 2014, opening direct flights to Almaty and Shymkent. Now the airline offers 2 flights per week to Astana and Almaty and one flight per week to Shymkent. With the launch of the new route, the Flydubai network in Central Asia and the Caucasus will expand to 9 destinations. In this region, the airline carries out 60 flights to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan every week.

Jeyhun Effendi, senior vice president of commercial operations in the UAE, the Middle East, the CIS and Europe, added: “Now is a great time to launch flights to the capital of Kazakhstan, as both Astana and Dubai are preparing for the EXPO in 2017 and in 2020, respectively. We consider it our duty to maintain tourism and trade relations between Kazakhstan and the UAE, offering a wide selection of services at affordable prices, as well as business class flights and cargo transportation. Now passengers from Astana will have the opportunity to travel in many Flydubai destinations in Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. "

Flydubai Airlines has launched 16 new destinations since the beginning of 2015, creating a route network of more than 96 routes in 45 countries. The company's fleet has 50 new Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the average age of which is 3.1 years, and also has an order for more than 100 aircraft. Thanks to airline interline agreements with other carriers, Flydubai passengers can travel to over 250 destinations around the world with a transfer at Dubai International Airport.
